Maternity Action Research on Healthcare Charging

Maternity Action have published a new research report, Breach of Trust, on the implementation of the NHS charging programme in maternity services in England.

It demonstrates that NHS trusts are wrongly charging vulnerable migrant women for their maternity care, with distressing findings on the impact this has on the women affected. The report makes a series of recommendations to improve maternity care and ensure nobody is wrongly denied maternity care. You can read coverage of the findings here.
