Many of our volunteers have and still are going through the asylum seeking process whilst pregnant. One aim of the Maternity Stream is to ensure asylum seeking and refugee women’s voices are heard. Women’s stories have always proved to be the most effective instrument in ensuring people listen and consider how desperate and real their situations are.
Volunteers interviewed some of the women, to encourage them to tell their stories in their owns words. We hope that the reader will find a deeper understanding, appreciation and level of compassion towards pregnant asylum seeking and refugee women.
