34 mums and children from the Maternity Stream had a brilliant weekend away in Malhamdale. We stayed with local families and at Malhamdale Activity Centre. All the hosts were incredibly welcoming. We went to a farm in the pouring rain, built rafts, played with a parachute, did painting with Kathryn Holmes, a famous painter, cooked international food and had singing and dancing from around the world, all in one day!

On Sunday, people from all faiths went to a church service at St Michael’s where are very own Michael Jackson welcomed us in true Malhamdale style. Diako, Diana and Emily share some of their stories and reflections which moved people to tears and we ended our weekend with a lovely picnic lunch at the Quaker Meeting House. We would like to say a Hugh thank you to the people of Malhamdale for enabling us ALL to have a summer holiday and a chance to smile and have fun Sometimes you do something that will stay with you forever and this weekend was one of them.

Reverend Michael Jackson has also written a lovely piece about the weekend that you can read here
