Help us to end pregnancy discrimination

Come along to our Parliamentary event on Monday 23rd May 2016 3-5pm and put pregnancy and maternity discrimination on the political agenda.

The statistics on pregnancy discrimination at work are shocking.  One in nine pregnant women in the workplace will lose their job as a result of unfair and unlawful treatment.  Three quarters of mothers at work will experience some form of discrimination or negative experience.  Almost half will face difficulties in negotiating a safe working environment.

Join us for a panel discussion on the widespread and growing problem of pregnancy discrimination in the workplace.  Drawing on new Government research, our panel will share testimony from women with experience of pregnancy discrimination and debate what needs to be done to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all pregnant women and new mothers.  There will be opportunity for debate and discussion and we are keen to hear women’s experiences.

The event will be child friendly and there will be space available to park buggies.

Please distribute this invitation widely amongst your networks. We would like as many women to attend as possible to support us and help raise the profile of this issue.

This event has been jointly organised by Kate Green MP, Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities, and Maternity Action.
