Residents of Malham Dale made a special trip to Leeds on Saturday. This was an opportunity for the Maternity Stream to host them as a way of developing existing friendships as well as building new ones for our next trip to the Malham Dale. This was a great opportunity for potential new hosts to meet women and their children prior to the trip which is hopefully going to take place in September.
The day started with introductions and human bingo (a great way to find out random facts about eachother) in order to meeting eachother/get reacquainted followed by sharing memories about the trip to Malham Dale last summer.
Our volunteers gave them an international welcome to Leeds, through delicious homemade food from all over the world, as well music, games and singing. Women spoke about the highlights of the trip and what they gained from the visiting the Dales last summer. It was great to get everyone together and have fun, everyone is beginning to get excited about the trip in September……even the teenagers were asking ‘when are we going back to the Dales’!
